Oooh and how they strut! Black women, men, children, heck, people all decked to the nines for Easter Sunday. On this holiest day of the year for Christians, it is also one of the most regal in terms of attire. Easter is the day when you may just be blinded by the march of patent leather shoes and bags and awed by three piece suits and gators.
Everyone from Oprah Winfrey to Neicy Nash dons a regal crown when they step into the Lord's House (or maybe the Kentucky Derby). At any rate, feast your eyes on this women's rite of passage, the large "church" hat, usually splendid, sometimes tipped to the side, always a fashion statement. Amen.

Hats are beautiful at any age. There is not an age group to wear hats. They are back in this year.

I have many hats. I plan to wear a medium-sized hat for Easter Sunday. I love them. The sistas know how to wear them better than anybody.

THE LORD SAYS, COME AS YOU ARE, NOT DRESSED TO THE NINE. AND WHEN THE SERVICE IS OVER ALL THE HYPOCRITES GATHER AND TALK ABOUT PEOPLE.

I personally love hats but some women have a tendacy to forget some one is sitting behind you. Give us a break and let us enjoy the service as well. Some of the hats are way to big.

Some of the hats worn are more matronly and look good on the Older woman. I see more younger ladies getting their acts together and enjoying the art of donning Hats. I personally love seeing women dressed up to the NINE with a beautiful Hat on. You go Ladies but please don't sit in front of me...Smile

It is our tradition to don a hat to church - whether it be a service, funeral or wedding. It has nothing to do with NOT hearing or listening to the WORD! Let's keep the tradition alive.

I think hats don't look good on all people. alot of women wear hats as a fashion statement, and the hats they wear don't appeal to them. I never cared for hats for me. I wear them very seldom. I wear hats in the winter to keep my head warm.
