Michelle Obama isn't the only person setting fashion trends these days as it appears that innovative style seems to run in the family. Barack Obama proved to be rather inspiring when fashion designer Donatella Versace unleashed her Spring-Summer 2009 Menswear collection in Milan over the weekend which was reportedly influenced by the presidential hopeful.
Versace described Obama as "the man of the moment." The designer of the latest collection told reporters she was creating a style for "a relaxed man who doesn't need to flex muscles to show he has power."
Barack Obama described his style as "fairly standard." Although Versace admires Obama's laid back appeal she did have a few pointers for the democratic candidate saying "I would get rid of the tie and jazz up the shirt." Ties were absent in the Obama inspired collection; instead silk scoop-neck T-shirts, cool pastel shades and simple under jackets were seen on the runway in Milan on Saturday.
Michelle Obama was the first of the two to create a fashion buzz. After Michelle Obama appeared on ABC's The View sporting an off the rack dress from White House/Black Market, the dress sold out within one day. This stylish couple can't help but turn heads these days.

Barack has style simply off the strength of being a strong black man. I'm proud to say that I can raise my boys in the Era of a Barack Obama. And I can understand Donatella's enthusiasm, but her "style" ain't got nothing to do with a black man's swag.

I'm a serious supporter of Barack Obama. However, this particular article, has nothing to do with serious issues of the American people. Gasoline prices, food, healthcare and social security for our elderly, is crippling Americans!" I could really could care-less what anyone has to wear. Clothing designers is simply a priviledge most people like myself can not relate with at this time of recession.

I agree with Rozlyn Ratliff. The clothes do NOT make the man. I don't look at Sen.Obama's clothes - I listen to what he has to say. He says a lot and says it well.
GO OBAMA!

Obama certainly is a fine black man. It's such an exciting time to be living! Black people have always inspired fashion so this is nothing new.
