It has been said that the eyes are the window to the soul. What happens when you want to close that window? Just put on a pair of shades.

The ultimate accessory, sunglasses, shades or as we call them in the hood, stunners can take your outfit to a whole 'nother level.

Creating mystery and partial anonymity, stunners are instant confidence boosters. You ever notice that people who have on shades hold their head just a little bit higher?

Shades also can hide red-eyes, black eyes and sleepy eyes. Amazingly though the Chinese had other uses for them.

According to 100 Inventions That Shaped The World by Bill Yenne and, Panati's Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things by Charles Panati, Chinese judges used smoke-colored quartz lenses to conceal the expressions of their eyes in court in the 1300's.

In 1430, vision-correcting darkened eyeglasses were used to fix vision impairments. These were brought to China from Italy.

In 1752, James Ayscough invented glassed with hinges then went on to create glasses with blue and green tinted lenses.

In 1929, Sam Foster, founder of the Foster Grant company sold the first pair of Foster Grant sunglasses on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, NJ and the rest is history. The first polarized sunglasses become in 1936 when Ray Ban began using Edwin H. Land Polaroid filter to reduce glare from the sun.

From Prada to Sean John, every major clothing lines has its own line to hater blockers. Check out the pictures below and let us know which pair of shades tickles your fancy.

Fellas by the way, make sure you get shades that fit your face and when people do things to get you down, just put on your hater blockers, hold your head up high and keep on grinding!
