With Thanksgiving a week away, shoppers are in need of a fashionable dress for Thanksgiving Day gatherings. Sure, you could just hit up your usual go-to spots, but why not change it up this year? Buying your holiday ensemble from a company that donates some of its proceeds to charity is a great way to show how how thankful you are for all of your blessings this holiday season.
Style Spotter has spotted a few "charitable" items just for you. No need to thank us, just be thankful!

Those are some interesting items. I wonder, though, what does "proceeds" mean? Can it mean any amount of the money made from the sale, or all the profits made from the sale? In some cases it's so general that these companies could be donating a tiny amount but getting the marketing benefits, in which case it would be unethical, seems to me.
Style Spotter might want to check out www.onepearl.com, a jewelry company whose mission is to fund non-profits with sales of their jewelry.

Well how about finding those who are needy in your community and finding a way to directly benefit them? Gather donations for gift certificates. Any family in need would be humbled, no big company will profit and the family can find exactly what they need. Keep it in your community, and that benefits everyone.

Emma...great suggestion. I volunteer at our local homeless shelter...you'd be surprised what they need....call your local agencies or see their websites for their wish lists. WE NEED brooms and mops and hangers...amongst other things (toilet paper!). Also, I was so pleased and surprised to find out how many stores/chains in our area donate foodstuff and how many generous people donate clean and decent clothing. Volunteering has actually opened my eyes to what is needed that I wouldn't have even thought of! It also made me aware of how many retailers in my area actually think of people who have need.

PWAL--I couldn't have said it better. How about we help battered women, abused children, homeless AMERICAN citizens before we keep trying to help other countries. Hollywood I am talking to you!

I agree with sending the donations direct to the cause. Or offering help within your community. Some of the donation percentages are rather small that they actually receive. Breast cancer is a perfect example! Companies put pink ribbons on everything and sell more products because of it. The cause may only reap 10% of the sale, which is better than nothing...however the companies make out much better.

I also agree with Christine Long and PWAL.....let charity begin at home first.
