Jo-Anne: It would actually be a Godsend if indeed 10% of the price of goods is donated. However, it is usually less than 1% of most consumer goods, (and usually with maximum total dollar limits) and who knows about the rest. I'm sure that the big ticket items do return a goodly donation, but do take a look at the percentage for the lip balm. WOW! $2 per sale, or 25% of the retail price of $8 bucks! Sounds very good, except that this is a 20 cent cost product being sold for eight bucks! Lip balm sells for under $2, so this dealer is really making a killing by attaching their wares to charity. Our advertising specialty company donates 20% of our gross revenue to women's charities and in paying working Moms $30/hour to stay at home doing simple assembly, but only when their hids are in school. Our advertisers and Moms both love this.

I admire any business that donates to charity, but has anyone heard of thehungersite.com?
They sell clothing, jewelry, and many other things using Fair Trade.
Every time you buy something, you help feed someone.
They have many wonderful charities that you can help just by clicking your mouse.

Here's an idea for a gift that helps abused women; Stud Service. Help them start the healing process by showing them how a real man loves da ladies! Just a little public service announcement.

For three years now we have picked things for Christmas out of a World Vision cataglog. The first year I thought that the kids (9yrs. and 4yrs. old) were going to be really disappointed when we went to my mom's and they were not getting toys and junk. Instead they knew it in advance and for the first year no one was dissapointed because their gift didn't fit or was the wrong color. Everyone loved it and it takes the greed out of Christmas.
