The true-life story about the rise and fall of the Chicago-based record label is set in the 50s, and the actors wore an impressive wardrobe that, while consistent with the time period, is modern enough to be worn today. Hence, the recent launch of a House of Deréon line inspired by the movie. Beyoncé's mom Tina Knowles worked hard on both the film and the line.

The House of Deréon line inspired by 'Cadillac Records' is available at Bloomingdales.
We had the pleasure of speaking to the one who created Beyonce's image, and serves as Creative Director and Designer for several clothing lines: the high-end House of Deréon, junior lifestyle Deréon and her very own Miss Tina available exclusively at the Home Shopping Network. We just had to get all up in her business to learn about the personal style of the woman who gave birth to the brands and biggest of all, the Beyoncé machine.
Eartha Kitt
For my personal style, I would say Donna Karan. In terms of creativity and aesthetic, I would say Gianfranco Ferre.

It is so sad that how people don't support creativity of our own race. For, the person Lia, so what she didn't consider herself as her favorite designer, she's probably stated the person she admire in the fashion industry, who has come before her in fashion design. Lia get a life, and find your own creative side, and stop judging. For the other people who down Tina Knowles, it's sad, instead of putting her down and judging her, help to lift her up and support her, celebrities are people to. I think the clothes are vintage, classic, sophisticated and worth wearing. All the judgemental people, it's not your place to judge it's God's place. Remember, karma is something else, this is for those who judged and made negative comments. Tina Knowles keep showing your creativity, you're always going to encounter the negative people saying things/comments, because of their own jealousy, it's probably something they wanted to do and never had the courage or the guts to do it. So, keep doing you!

In case you've been living in a cave Wanda, this is a forum to voice our OPINIONS!! My opinion is just that. You can either agree or disagree, but unless you have some personal stake in Dereon, then you shouldn't get your panties in a bunch. And while you are telling me not to judge her, why are you judging me, and assuming I don't have a life? Just because someone black does something, it doesn't mean every black person has to cosign on it.

I will never understand why people thinks you are hating when you don't agree or like a particular thing about a person, as the person stated earlier, just because someone is black that doesn't mean you have to franchise with them. I don't like House of Dereon, so I guess I am jealous of Mrs. Knowles. I don't like Juicy Coulture, so I am jealous of that designer

I admire and love momma Tina, but that clothing line is not the business. Her line is very loud and gaudy, I wish that she made something more conservative. Too much glitter and gold for me.
