Tonight marks the official start of the 2009 awards season with the 66th Annual Golden Globes Awards. Starlets made their way through the chaotic red carpet with lots of sass and loads of confidence. Form-fitting, fierce gowns, pretty, pale pastels and timeless tiers ruled the G.G.'s carpet. Style Spotter spotted the best of the best.
Form Fitting, Fierce Gowns
Now when it comes to wearing a sex pot gown, Beyonce, Jennifer and Eva know that it must be tight, but not too tight, it must have a long, sleek silhouette and most importantly it must make all men want to come hither. Meow!

Jennifer Lopez - Marchesa (Is it me or is this look very similar to that infamous grammy dress?)

Beyonce - strapless Elie Saab

Eva Longoria - vibrant, red Reem Acra gown

Pretty, Pale Pastels
The carpet was a sea of soft, pale pastel gowns and actresses in-the-know, know that soft, pastel colors are a big 2009 spring trend. While the color of the dresses were quiet, structure and design were bold.

Cameron Diaz - pretty in pink in Chanel

Penelope Cruz - Armani Prive strapless gown with silver horizontal detailing

Salma Hayek - Dior

Drew Barrymore - Dior
Timeless Tiers
Tiers are timeless and pretty when they are tamed. The red carpet overflowed with tiers that were lady-like, sweet and daring.

Debra Messing - Zac Posen

Demi Moore - pale pink Dior gown
?????
There will always be those dresses, which one can never understand. And here are a few of those very dresses.

Oh, Heidi Klum! Of all the dresses that you see and have access to, why, oh why did you pick this dress!? Is this a 'Project Runway' design?

Renee Zellweger in Carolina Herrera took a very bad and daring approach in this goth, Gwyneth Paltrow-esque dress.

Does Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive look more like a beauty queen contestant or a contestant on 'Dancing WIth The Stars?' I'm not really sure.

#1 - Eva longoria! she was looking fierce!
J Lo still got it!
Bey looked nice but its the same old bey:
top of the dress is too tight (ta-ta spillage is not flattering)
shoes are a size too small(toes should not touch the carpet hun)
the necklace was a bit much considering we're already blinded by the shine of the dress.
penelope looks like a mummy from the neck down.
drew - ummm what?
renee disappointed me, she's usually on point.
No Heidi No!
Demi - surprisingly cute.

Jennifer looks good she has been conservative these past years since being with Marc Anthony... I guess it really is over.
Beyonce looks like she wanted to make sure all of the Hollywood people saw that she was in her "I am a star/tryna be serious actress" mode I don't blame her-- she has her now classic red carpet glam going strong.
Everybody looks beautiful, glamorous and safe. I just have two comments--Drew and Demi
Drew's hair looks wrong and Demi with the injected up face...I can't handle it. I bet one person didn't tell her that she looked weird.

Demi and Drew...classy and elegant.I would rescue Drew from the hair attack though and go sleek and smooth.
Eva...just gorgeous and naturally radiant. Now that's how you rock it!
Bey and Jen try too hard and it has the same tired effect. They are beautiful women and they don't need to be so desperate.

I agree, Jen and Bey do not need to try so hard. Simple elegance always win. Yes Drew's hair is a little different but I like it. She looks great; she is looking better that ever these days.AND YES i AGREE, Rene` missed it this time. I love her but what was she thinking. Heidi also could have been a bit more serious and elegant with her look.
