In addition to the boundless excitement that accompanied the inauguration of our nation's first African-American president, there were tremors of trepidation. Would Barack Obama be safe standing before those millions of people as he delivered his speech and marched in the parade? We should have known better.Rumor has it, Mr. President was sporting a bulletproof suit on January 20th. How is that possible? Well, he clearly wasn't rockin' a conspicuous Kevlar vest, 50 Cent-style. But it's 2009 -- for the right price, there's a classier, more subtle way to protect yourself from flying bullets.
Example: According to Asylum, designer Miguel Caballero, who hails from crime-ridden Colombia (where there is apparently a demand for this sort of thing), has an entire line of discrete bulletproof clothing, including polo shirts and jackets that can withstand anything from 9MM slugs to automatic weapon fire. The $10,000 price tag makes this look pretty impractical for the paranoid Average Joe, but a guy like Obama could probably use one in every color.

Yea I hated to see him get out of the car because I was concerned something would happen to him. We have to protect our president.

I am sooooooooo very PROUD, of our new prersident, I just pray for him !! But he has to ban killing our unborn children , that is called MURDER !!! PLEASE !!! He'll have to answer to GOD !! But he will be wonderful for our President !! God Bless him and his family !!!

but God gives us common sense....and yes i'm glad he had enough common sense to get that suit....like somebody here said...he should get one in every color.......
they were brave to get out of the car...i too was nervous about that...but i was elated at the same time....
they looked so beautiful!!!!!
i just love my First Family!!!!!
Let's continue to pray for them...that God keep a hedge around them and protect and keep them always!!!!!!

President Obama is an advocate for technology, so I hope this is true. It was very inspiring to watch Barack Obama become the 44th president of the United States.

Thank God he was protected and should be always. I know everyone has been worried since he won the election. The fisrt lady was stunning and I can't help but think that she too had some typye of protection shielded in that dress of hers. People can be devious and jealous they have a genuwine love between them and not all people like to see US like that. They always visualize us "fighting animals". Although mentally, we are known to be fighters, especially for what's right. We have to all pull together and be prayer warriors to keep those devils off him. America deserved to have someone of color represent US at least one time in this LIFETIME. We need to show them that we are highly educated individuals and there are more things that we can do then just follow orders. WE too can be leaders and use our own heads to make decisions about how things should and can be done!
