Super Bowl Star LaMarr Woodley Rips The Runway

It seems the relationship between sports and fashion is getting thismuchcloser with British soccer star David Beckham appearing in Emporio Armani ads and hockey player Sean Avery taking up an internship at Vogue. Next up on the fashion bandwagon is NFLer Lamarr Woodley, who helped his team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, win this year's Super Bowl. Woodley made his star turn on BET's 'Rip the Runway.'' Who knew the quiet, focused Saginaw, Michigan native would jump at an opportunity to do the Tyson Beckford thing for TI's Akoo clothing line?
We just had to ask this huge fan of Jay Z, Tommy Hilfiger and Sean "Diddy" Combs (whose birthday is the day after his) a few style-related questions. In true Scorpio fashion, he usually stays under the radar but is quietly making power moves behind the scenes. This was one of them.

How would you describe your personal style?

Laid back, calm and cool. I really am a simple guy, but when I need to get dressed up, I know how to throw on a suit and stun the room!

Does our Commander-In-Chief Barack Obama inspire you in any way?

Yes, Barack inspires me to be great at everything I do and to never let anyone tell me "No, you can't." Jay-Z is also a huge inspiration to me. He came from the streets, then became a rapper, then became one of the top business men in the industry. I respect him for that.

Did you attend Fashion week? Whose show would you have liked to attend and why?

No, I have never gone to New York Fashion Week. It always comes at a time when I'm in season. If I were to attend in the future I would want front row seats at the Sean John show.

Who is your fashion icon?

Tommy Hilfiger. Growing up I liked his style and everything that came from the Hilfiger brand.

Jay -Z
