i think peta gets off on watching their own disgusting movies. since this is still a free country, I will wear what I want when I want. and if you were to ruin something I was wearing rest assured that their multimillion dollar ???home grown terrorist????organization would be brought to financial task.

You people are getting off track. Forget about PETA or if someones eats meat. The question is simple. Are you for or aganist people wearing fur. Does it bother you that innocent animals
are slaughtered so that you can look good. Or
do you like your fur regardless of how it is
obtained.

ARETHA FRANKLIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DEATH OF HERDS OF MINKS,WHY ONE COAT OF HERS NEEDS AT LEAST A HUNDRED ANIMALS JUST TO COVER HER BOOBS

God put all animals (including humans, insects, etc.) here with purposes. It is a natural thing to hunt, eat meat, wear animal furs/skins. If not for these things, humans wouldn't have survived long at all. What I don't agree with is animals being mistreated and abused for their meat or fur/skin. Animals deserve respect for providing us their wonderful gifts.
PETA needs to leave the general public alone and harass those directly responsible FOR THE MISTREATMENT.

BTW, when I say "those directly responsible" I'm speaking of the poachers, farmers, etc...In other words, the abusers!
I also believe that if you're going to kill for the fur, the meat should be consumed and not wasted. The Native Americans did not hunt animals JUST for their fur and they NEEDED it to keep warm whereas we do not.

Jettie, you are so hyped on animal "rights" propaganda (or is it the new Holy Writ) that you read as though you might need de-programming. People are free to wear and believe what they choose in our society. It's just that I choose NOT to accept conversion to this new "religion" despite what its "missionaries" preach. By the way, I'm into real history, not the "revamped, rewritten" version touted by many fringe groups, like radical animal "rights" types, to promote their worldview. Hitler condemned a female dinner companion (not Eva Braun)for eating meat which he referred to as a "corpse", and I have read enough responses from self-proclaimed "animal lovers" and extreme "eco-types" who have expressed their disdain with humans and human civilization, including those who'd welcome an immediate massive, radical reduction in the human population. Some of these people actually express a desire for the brutal murder or torture of those who do not accept the tenets of the animal "rights" faith. This doesn't sound very "compassionate". Incidentally, I didn't say that the Canadian seal cull was "staged". I said that a 1964 incident was specifically "staged" to display bruality according to the sealer who was paid to do so. Regarding the Chinese fur trade, their native fur products are so far below Western standards that they are used for the domestic Chinese market. They process finished pelts from the West into coats for sale to Westerners. From your extreme emotionalism and passionate internalization of animal "rights" myths and mantras(i.e "sadistic" trappers; animals "chew off" their limbs to escape traps, genital electrocution, etc.), you sound rather like a child or like someone with too much time on their hands and isolation from the "real" problems of life. I suspect that you actually know very little about furs except what you've seen on anti-fur websites. I respect your right to believe as you will. It's just that your beliefs are not mine and never will be.

S. Golden, how genuinely sad that you are so adamant about ignoring the facts about the ruthlessness of the fur industry in your attempt to justify wearing it and covering your cold, shallow heart with it.
By saying that fur bearing animals are not gentially electrocuted, or left to languish in traps, shows that you obviously know ABSOULUTELY NOTHING about fur "production", nor the torture involved in obtaining it. If those are myths, kindly provide legitimate proof to the contrary. You bluster away about those terrible animal groups and advocates, yet you provide not one whit of documented evidence to the contrary.
You further display your ignorance about fur by suggesting that animals slaughtered for fur in China do not make it into the USA. Just last week JCPenney announced that it will no longer sell ANY fur in it's stores, including fur trimmed garments. This came about largely to the Humane Society of the United States' uncovering a scandal last year involving fur trimmed garments being labled as "faux" fur, when in fact it came from the hides of slaughtered raccoon dogs in China. There was a lot of press about it --- so don't bother wasting your time by claiming that it too is a "myth".
It doesn't really matter WHERE the fur is coming from anyway. It is a totally callous, unnecessary product that involves immense suffering.
Regarding your continued obsession with Hitler: get a life! Better yet, save many lives by actually educating yourself (instead of making stuff up and repeatedly slamming animal groups who advocate for powerless animals) about the fur industry, and pledging to take it out of your wardrobe. Don't be so negative and uptight about the notion of spreading compassion to ALL species.
Try it, you might actually like it!
By the way, I don't really care whether you "respect my beliefs" (that's usually such a phony statement, anyways). What I do care about is that you respect other living beings and their right and desire not to be tortured for something so frivolous and barbaric as fur.

Do you know that a man can beat his wife, it is a misdemeanor. A man kicks his dog and it is a felony charge. I started researching the facebook groups and they were way more animal lovers for their cause than people advocating for the rights of children. This is the world we live in? It sucks. Animals were put on this earth to keep us and fed. Enough said.

Actually, if you studied any science or history at all, you would know that animals were here way before us, so how would their "main/only purpose" be for us to kill them? We came along and utilized them for our own ends. We have evolved past that now. No need to inflict suffering when there are alternatives that work just as well. So much vanity, get over yourselves, you're trying too hard to look "cool" (Kanye West is gay no matter what he wears though). People who have no problem wearing fur are obviously brainwashed by society's shallow expectations because they feel that what they wear is a symbol of their "social status". Do you think the companies that sell furs even have consciences? In business, it's all about money, not humanity. I'm not an animal rights activist, but all it takes is some common sense and morality to see that it is wrong to skin animals just to look "fashionable".
