M.I.A. with Lil' Wayne and Jay-Z at this year's Grammys
M.I.A. was raised in London and currently resides in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, NY so her clothing collection cites global influences from her worldly travels. The jackets, tees, hoodie and lycra jumper are inspired by Islam, Mexico and Africa.
M.I.A. is on to something -- last year Kimora Lee Simmons wore a traditional African gown to the Met gala and R&B songbird Christina Milian was seen out recently wearing a pair of hip African print pants. MIA's personal style has been deemed so fresh in hip under-the-radar fashion circles that Missbehave magazine, where she was once a cover subject, put together a style retrospective that shows her ethnic-influenced fashion choices.

Who couldn't forget that ugly polka dot dress she wore and that INAPPROPRIATE PERFORMANCE? Girlfriend was grindin on the mic and was behind a rapper grindin. To me, that wasn't lady like! But as far as her clothing line I'M NOT FEELIN THIS AT ALL!

M.I.A. is a style icon. She manages to transcend Race, Class and Nationality. With her Grammy performance she has shown that women don't have to be on their backs and useless while pregnant, they can still rock a crowd only days before delivering a baby. I'm proud to have her as someone my daughters can look up to!

I also like M.I.A. People knew that her music was a breathe of fresh air from the stale commercially manipulated and generated R & B and so-called Hip-Hop that is out there. That's why they were sampling it! Her clothing line is her original for this generation. We had African print stuff like 20 years ago, and was rockin it. Now, this generation is. It's nothing new under the sun... So, hope her clothing line does great!

Mustafa in Utah Saints Land,
Would you still let your daughters look up to her if you really listened to the lyrics to one of her songs, "Paper Planes"? I don't think I would have my daughters looking up to somebody that was saying; get high, weeds & bombs, murder murder murder, murder, skelton bones, all I wanna do is BANG, BANG, BANG, and take all of your $$$$, lethal posion, ect and it goes on and on, and on......... Yeah, the muzic is catchy and fun to dance to but it's still important to PAY ATTENTION TO LYRICS even if it has been played as EDITED. I'm not knockin girlfriend down, I'm just sayin young children shouldn't be lookin up to somebody like that as their role model. You should be their role model and somebody they can look up to. LOL :-)
Lyrics to Paper Planes :
I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name
If you come around here, I make 'em all day
I get one down in a second if you wait
I fly like paper, get high like planes
If you catch me at the border I got visas in my name
If you come around here, I make 'em all day
I get one down in a second if you wait
Sometimes I feel sitting on trains
Every stop I get to I'm clocking that game
Everyone's a winner now we're making that fame
Bonafide hustler making my name
Sometimes I feel sitting on trains
Every stop I get to I'm clocking that game
Everyone's a winner now we're making that fame
Bonafide hustler making my name
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
Pirate skulls and bones
Sticks and stones and weed and bombs
Running when we hit 'em
Lethal poison through their system
Pirate skulls and bones
Sticks and stones and weed and bombs
Running when we hit 'em
Lethal poison through their system
No one on the corner has swag like us
Hit me on my banner prepaid wireless
We pack and deliver like UPS trucks
A radio in hell just pumping that gas
No one on the corner has swag like us
Hit me on my banner prepaid wireless
We pack and deliver like UPS trucks
A radio in hell just pumping that gas
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
All I wanna do is (BANG BANG BANG BANG!)
And (KKKAAAA CHING!)
And take your money
M.I.A.
Third world democracy

So, uh, no funny business
Some some some I some I murder
Some I some I let go
Some some some I some I murder
Some I some I let go

Apparently YOU DON'T PAY ATTENTION! Your the IDIOT that can't or don't want to remember! I believe it was Jay-Z she was behind him dancing all inappropriately and grinding on the mic. If you didn't see that than somethin wrong with you. If you are going to talk about a person's comments why don't you click REPLY. PULEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ!!!!!! :-(
