Cheap Is Chic: Jimmy Choo for H&M and for charity in South Africa

Jimmy Choo shoesBritish accessory luxury brand Jimmy Choo will design a line of shoes and handbags for fast fashion Swedish retail chain H&M. In Hollywood, Jimmy Choo shoes are the red-carpet essential, (only bested sometimes by French shoe brand Christian Louboutin) worn at the Oscars by winners such as Cate Blanchett, Halle Berry, Hilary Swank and many other A-listers including Taraji P. Henson and Alicia Keys. The brand caught worldwide attention when following the release of Elton John's "Four Inches" book in 2005 where tons of female celebrities including Kimora Lee Simmons, Iman, Serena Williams, Paris Hilton and Christina Aguilera posed nude wearing only a pair of Choos and Cartier diamond jewelry, later singer Macy Gray performed nude onstage wearing only a pair of Choos in a London concert to support Elton John's AIDS Foundation.

This is the first time an accessories brand has collaborated with H&M. To make it even more hot, Jimmy Choo will also offer women's clothing and a men's collection of shoes, bags and accessories. You can also snag some Jimmy Choo to support a worthy cause if that's more your thing. Jimmy Choo will also release a limited-edition accessories collection dubbed Project PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis). It was created to support Elton John's AIDS Foundation. It will include handbags, shoes, and small leather goods decorated with a new signature laminated canvas print showing off iconic Jimmy Choo details with snakeskin and leather. Twenty-five percent of all proceeds will support the Simelela rape center in South Africa.
