It confounds me to no end that in these harsh economic times not only are folks buying Beyonce's line, House of Dereon, but that they are buying it to the point that its actually making profit -- and a lot of it. At least that's what it seems like in light of the latest news: House of Dereon is expanding. The contemporary juniors line is adding yet another category to its roster: day wear.dereon
By way of explanation, Tina Knowles told fashion newspaper, Women's Wear Daily: "Beyonce and I have had several occasions where we are in meetings all day and don't have time to run and change by dinner. This is the perfect collection to wear from the office to dinner because every piece can easily be dressed up or dressed down."
All these daytime fashions won't come cheap. They will debut in stores at end of the year and are estimated to range in price between $100 and $200 per piece. Now again, who is buying?

Do you not like fashion? Even in a poor economy we specifically women need to look good in order to get that next job. Congrads to Dereon.

I AM!
Actually I think that that House of Dereon has some very nice pieces and I love her curvacious line! As a plus sized girl it is hard to find jeans that fit good, look hot and are a decent price. She sends out e-mails with sales specials every week (Diva Thursdays)and they have some really hot stuff. I have never sent more than $60 on a pair of jeans or $30 for a top. As a matter of fact I got a beautiful long summer dress (strapless) for about $50. Everyone loved it and no one else has it! So that is a plus.
Now don't get me wrong, some of the clothing styles are off (like the outfit above) but that is true for most designers. So stop hating on my girl Bey! Okay!
Love Ya!
:-)

I agree totally. I shop at Marshalls for discount designer clothes and paid $50 for a pair of Dereon jeans. I have tons of jeans by Baby Phat, Seven and Rocawear but my husband loves them and say they are the best fitting jeans I own. I don't like spending a lot on casual clothes, but definitely will shop for good bargains on designer stuff if they are available. Beyonce is doing her thing, you don't have to pay high prices for nice stuff. Shop on, sistahs, shop on!

I just looked through her fashions and I think they are fantastic. The jewelry, shoes, jeans, dresses, all are wonderful and at a fantastic price. I can see why she is making those profits. Even the common, every day person can afford this line. Very hip hop, very unique. Like a hip hop Targets.

House of Dereon has some of the worst looking items I have seen. I do not know what you women are seeing, but I only see a few young teenagers wear the line and it looks cheap, cheap, cheap! The reason HOD is expanding is because they were not doing so well but they are willing to try again to capitalize off of Bey's popularity as a performer and her doing so well on tour. HOD is terrible and I would never buy that crap! What you see Bey wear is not what you see in the stores. I once took a picture of a pair of HOD jeans sold in Marshall's and was appalled at how horrible the quality was... That stuff is worse than Baby Phat!

I DONT CARE TOO MUCH FOR THE HOD LINE EITHER. IVE SEEN SOME CLOTHING AND PURSES IN A FEW STORES AND I HAVENT LIKED A SINGLE THING. MY MOTHER BOUGHT A PAIR OF BOOTS THAT SHE HAS NEVER WORN BECAUSE ONCE SHE GOT THEM HOME SHE REALIZED THE STRAPS AND CHARMS AND OTHER ITEMS ON THE BOOTS WERE A LITTLE TOO MUCH TO HANDLE IF YOU ARENT ON STAGE SOMEWHERE...LOL. MY MOTHER IS THE ONLY ON IVE KNOWN TO BUY ANY DEREON ITEM. BUT EVERYONE HAS THIER OWN OPINION...AND HOD IS JUST NOT MY THING.
