Trust me dear reader, I had to adjust my eyes too. At first glance I wasn't sure if I was looking at a drawing, a 3-D illusion or a sculpture. I am here to let you know that it is indeed a real, live, "stiletto" shoe , albeit without a traditional stiletto heel. Student designers Tove Jansson and Per Emanuelsson created this dynamic women's shoe, plus one for men (after the jump), for the 2009 Shoemania Design competition, which took place in Stockholm last week.
Naturally, this Swedish duo won first place. The shoes are a combination of traditional leather uppers and soles and non-traditional rusted metal chains. These concept shoes are not meant to go into production and so will not be on sale any time soon. Is that a good or bad thing? You decide!

You can't be serious? WTF? Wouldn't those chains be uncomfortable on your skin? Will the chains turn your skin GREEN? What if you go in the rain? Will the chains RUST? How do you REPAIR a rusted broken down chain of a heel? Do you just throw them a way? Or are the shoes "WATERPROOF"? What if the bottom of your chain heel get caught on something outdoors or indoors? That is a SAFETY ISSUE and a very IMPORTANT one! I ain't trying to be rushed to the EMERGENCY over this crap of a shoe?
Questions, people want to ask? No, they are not ATTRACTIVE! These shoes aren't going to be cutting into my pretty feet! At least have a SOLE at the bottom of the first shoe? The second shoe, should have material underneath the chains so it won't hurt your feet? Whom every came up with this idea, is STUPID and wasn't thinking at all for WOMAN!

naw forget about the chains ansd rust..etc.. um thinkin more so along the lines as being heavy as all out doors...

I didn't think of that one? Next thing you know, the designer or somebody else will be coming out with jewelry made out of chains. Chain "necklace", "ankle bracelets", "wrist bracelets", ect...
