His best line has got to be the question he delivers early on: "I know what you are thinking, what is Christopher "Kid" Reid doing in a suit and tie. ?" (No, we were wondering what he is doing selling suits and ties.) But I've got to respect it. In these tough economic times I love to see a man generate some income however he can. And honestly, being a spokesperson for a local chain store is a pretty savvy way to do it. But it does make me reflect on this fact: if you or I should get to be top selling artists with movie deals, we should invest our money just a little better.

He was also playing small comedy clubs throughout the country. I saw him at a comedy club in El Paso, TX and he made a lot reference to his glory days. He drank alot and sold his picture for $5.00 each. The funniest thing that I remember is that there were alot of Mexican females who requested his autograph. After the autographs, they just stood around him in a circle and stared in anticipation. It was so awkard and so funny to me. It was as though one of them was waiting to be picked to go back to his hotel room. Imagine how he looks in his movies when he was in an awkward position. He looked the same exact way when those YOUNG females expected him to choose one of them. Even though he was tipsy, he did not take the bait. He is not bad looking for being in his 40's. I wish Christopher Reid well.

I don't have a problem with a "vintage" hip-hop star who is in a "career re-assignment". I think that it's great that he can still draw marketing attention even if it's in the retail world. The entertainment HR executives do not financially prepare young people for life after "the lights go out" so many of them wind up broke, on drugs, in jail or dead. So if selling suits keeps his mortgage paid, then sell suits. And if those criticize him really enjoyed his music back in the day, support the brother, and patronize his employer and keep negative thoughts about him to yourself.
