Readers, are you ready? By know you are probably knee deep in New York Fashion Week coverage - and if you are anything like me - you still want more! It's the first official day of shows and there are already highlights - and celebrity sightings - galore. But for now, let's stick to the clothes. From young, black super model Chanel Iman in a retro bikini to pop artist Gwen Stefani's relaunch there was lots to see. See a quick list of my favorite highlights of the day and trends I spotted on the runway!

1) Party dresses floated down the runway at Whitney Port's show. The "Hills" star used lots of silks, brocade and lace in short, festive dresses which would look as good in a nightclub as they would in a episode of her hit reality show.
2) Stretchy, silky, neon dresses exploded down the runway at BCBGMax Azria. Although the show was the first one out at 10 a.m, everyone from Amerie to Anna Wintour was on hand to watch the collection. In a quick chit chat with Real Simple magazine's fashion editor, Julee Wilson, she said "BCBG is so popular, because it actually looks good on a real woman." Agreed!
3) The Real Housewives of New York's Kelly Bensimon debuted a fine jewelry line at the Hautelook.com lounge in the Bryant Park hotel. Dressed in a mini skirt, chunky sweater and boots, she showed reporters her favorite pieces, including a pretty blinged out cuff which retails for $500.
4) Gwen Stefani showed relaunched her collection to a pretty packed crowd. Her presentation featured a gang of models in a pretty eclectic mix of leggings, leather jackets and cropped jeans!
5) Super model, Chanel Iman, stalked down the runways of Rosa Cha, in the labels signature, sexy swimsuits. This season they opted for fun, flirty, fifties vibe with high waist bikini bottoms, plaid prints and head-kerchiefs.
