Okay, so he's been described by my good friend as a "baked honey ham in heels," but say what you will: America's next fashion icon is Derek J. The Atlanta-based fashinisto has become a bit of an internet sensation for his detailed outfits, which are always punctuated by a pair of haute heels and a luxury bag. Witnessing the grace and poise with which he wears his feminine ensembles makes me feel like he's beating me at my own game. But don't let the costumes fool you, Derek J is clearly talented at more than just playing dress up.
The Ohio-raised hairstylist was highlighted in Chris Rock's "Good Hair" documentary, for winning last year's Bonner Brothers Hair show, and anyone who has witnessed his guest spot on 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' has seen the magic he worked on Kim Zolciak's wig. He's also quite the entrepreneur -- a look at his website proves that he's just as serious about his hair-styling business as he is about his fierce wardrobe.
