Every curvy girl knows that jean shopping can be a chore. In what can be an endless whirlwind of trial and error, you may find a jean that fits the thighs but not the waist, the hips but not the butt, and on and on leading to that awful muffin top or crack peeking out the back of your pants -- so not sexy. But one of our most famous curvies of all, Oprah, has discovered a new brand of premium denim that champions the curvacious -- Cj by Cookie Johnson jeans. Created earlier this year by Cookie Johnson, wife of former pro basketball player Magic Johnson, Oprah crows that Cj jeans are "The perfect jeans for real women with real booties."

"I had a hard time finding a jean to fit me," Cookie has said. "Every time I [would] go to the stores, I put the jeans on and I couldn't get them past my thighs. I thought: 'I'm in good shape. I work out. I eat healthy. Why can't I find a jean to fit me?'"
By taking matters into her own hands, this graduate of Michigan State University with a degree in Retailing (where she met Magic), has taken her frustrations all the way to the bank. By partnering with jean guru Michael Glasser, founder of Seven For All Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, and Rich & Skinny jeans, Cookie made sure that she had all bases covered.
"My partner, Michael Glasser, is an expert at fabrics, and he searched all over and found these wonderful fabrics from Europe that had great stretch to them but were so comfortable at the same time," said Cookie on Oprah.com. "We put a silk waistband inside the waist so they will be nice and comfortable."
The jeans -- which Cookie terms a "denim legging" come in quite a few styles (boyfriend, skinny, etc.) and colors. The line was initially sold exclusively at Nordstrom for between $140 and $200, and has already expanded to Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales. They come in sizes 2-18. Curvalicious!

I WILL NOT PURCHASE ANY JEANS THAT I CANNOT TRY ON FIRST. I BELIEVING IN TRYING ON CLOTHING ESPECIALLY JEANS PRIOR TO PURCHASING THEM. APPARENTLY THE PZI JEANS ARE ONLY AVAILABLE ON LINE. THAT'S NOT GOOD.

For an affordable jean for larger women, I love Gloria Vanderbilt's "Amanda" line. It's amazing and affordable!

I agree, PZI Jeans are it! And they are affordable. I've also purchased NY & Co jeans and Old Navy Diva brand. I've had no problems with any of them.

THIS IS CRAZY AND CRACKS ME UP! BECAUSE "OPRAH SAYS SO" EVERYONE HAS TO FOLLOW HER LEAD. GET OVER IT. THE WOMAN'S ONLY THAT; A WOMAN. A PERSON WHO PROFESSES HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT, HAS HER "EXPERTS" ON TO BACK HER OPINION AND THEN WHAT...SHE GAINS WEIGHT ALL OVER AGAIN.
BE HAPPY WITH YOURSELVES WOMEN. BELIEVE IN YOURSELVES AND DON'T MAKE YOUR LIFE DECISIONS BASED ON WHAT THIS VERY COMMON WOMAN SAYS.
AND, PLEEEEASE DON'T RESPOND TO MY EMAIL STATING HOW MUCH MONEY SHE DONATES TO PEOPLE IN NEED. MOST WEALTHY PEOPLE DO!! BESIDES, EVERY PERSON SHOULD DO THAT BASED ON WHAT THAT INDIVIDUAL CAN AFFORD. SHE'S JUST ANOTHER PERSON, MESSED UP AND HAS INSECURITIES LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.
OMG, GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!

It sounds like you may be experiencing pent up hostility. Try Yoga or just spend time each day alone in total quiet…start with 5 minutes a day.

I find increasingly that media-touted products have price tags the average American only WISHES they could pay. A cost of $50-$80 for one pair of jeans simply cannot sit well with those of us who don't want to live with a credit card(s) balance, can it? If it does, then I've been living under a rock---odd, since I live in one of the country's most quickly growing and highest-income counties. See, not everyone here is a 'highest-income' kind of person. Having said that, my family finds comfortable, even VERY fashionable jeans on "Sale" racks at Target. We find them at thrift stores and Goodwill stores. No, it's not likely we or you would find a highly-specialized style at one of these places, but a person likely doesn't need all their jeans to to have a highly-specialized style. Again, I have to put MY vote on thrift stores and the like. I believe nay-sayers would be pleasantly surprised if they were to give it a try.
Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
