November 27th, also known as Black Friday, is one of the busiest shopping days of the year! Eager shoppers recover quickly from their Thanksgiving meals to grab the best in the season's steals and deals.
Here's a rundown for you shoppers who need the 411 on your favorite clothing and department stores:
The shopping fun goes from 5am-1pm at
Macy's stores where you can snag DKNY coats for $80, Oscar de la Renta cotton sweaters for $20, and Calvin Klein leather gloves for $20. Get a flyer for extra discounts, which include coupons for 15% off sale and clearance items.
Run to
JCPenney starting at 4am for doorbuster deals including $30 women's boots, $60 luggage sets, and women's separates for $50 and less. The fun ends at 1pm, so be sure to get there before all the deals run dry.
Head out to
Old Navy starting at 3am for Outerwear at 50% Off, Performance Fleece Tops and Graphic Tee's for only $5, and sweaters for $10. If you just can't wait for Black Friday, select stores will be open at noon on Thanksgiving Day!
Already affordable
Target prices go lower, as the discount den offers pants, tees, scarfs, and more for as little as $5. Get there at 5am to call first dibs.

did you realize the examples you gave are actually referring to the color? i don't think the person who made up the term "black ice" thinking of race. it might have had something to do with the fact that "black ice" is when you can't see the ice on the pavement and it looks, you guessed it, black.
blackjack? seriously? it's one of two colors: black or red and red doesn't rhyme with jack.
and early flight data recorders were boxes painted black.

I think you're taking offense when none is intended...Black Friday is a day when merchants can count on increased sales and therefore being "in the black" or making a profit. When a merchant is "in the red," the store is losing money: being "in the black" is a good thing!

Bird-the use of Black Friday comes from the retailers being in the "black" or showing a profit from the increased spending done on this day. It is not meant to be racist. It's not about people losing money but about the stores making money. While we as a nation still have a long way to go in race relations it's not always about race.
