The comment in the article is so true. It is judged upon the person carrying the purse as to whether it is fake or real. I have several fake purses and people assume that they are real because I am carrying them. I dress very nice and neat but I don't always wear designer labels it is the way that I coordinate my attire with my handbags. I refuse to pay an outrageous price for a handbag. I would rather have that money in my fake purse.

NO WAY WOULD I PURCHASE A DESIGNERS BAG.I ALWAYS THINK IF I DID THEY ARE IN EUROPE ON HOLIDAY WITH MY MONEY.ITS HARD OUT HERE.PEOPLE LOOSING JOBS EVERYDAY.NO WAY!!!!!! SO YOU CAN KEEP YOUR DOONEY,LV,GUCCI,COACH,KATE SPADE,KENNETH COLE,D&G,COLE HAAN AND WHO EVER ELSE.THEY WONT GO TO PALM SPRINGS ON MY MONEY.

I own Louis Vuitton,Chanel bags ect.. but I keep them in pristine condition and resell them on Ebay when I don't want them anymore, this way I am able to recover 80% of what I paid for them. I own my own home and business, so I can afford it. There's nothing wrong with having nice things if you can afford it. I don't look down on anyone that buys knockoff bags though, cause it's their prerogative.

Why do people think that because you carry a designer bag, you don't have anything else? There are people who can AFFORD them and don't have to think about the water bill. There are people who make $30k per year and there are people that make $100k per year (you can insert any number here). There's Ann Taylor and then there's NY & Company. Different strokes for different folks!

Let's face it, people - there's fraud in everything we come in contact with. Its really all about an individual's taste. I have high-end bags but also have a "knock-off" that I tote around when I frequent an event that does not have security in place. If I lose it or it gets damaged, I don't care. The truth about the actual value and money it takes to make a bag is true what thekooljt said: I have a friend that's a buyer for Macy's and he was told how cheap the bags are to make compared to what they are priced as in stores. Ridiculous! It made me not want to pay $500-600 for a purse. So what I have now, I take care of don't invest any more money. It all goes to my home. But if its what you like ladies, make yourself happy. I lived above my means for years but since then I've learned to shop smarter, now I'm ok.

Buying fake handbags is wrong because typically the revenue from selling these bags actually fund illegal activities such as drug trafficking.Harper's Bazaar has a great article on their site about it. And honestly its easy to cut back on other frivolous activities such as meals out and movies in order to save up for a nice bag.
I understand that some people don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a purse. But then again, its something you use everyday and why wouldn't you want to invest? Some people decide to get a Lexus although they would be better off getting a Honda. Individuals who buy a designer purse over one at Target buy it because of a quality as well as name in the same manner that individuals would favor a luxury car over a more affordable one from Honda.
