Halle Berry's Golden Globes Style Panned in New York Times

In a funny yet brutal critique of the Golden Globes Sunday night, New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn seems painfully unimpressed with the bulk of styles trotted out for the annual awards show.

The seasoned fashion journalist scathingly remarked that Halle Berry's Kaufman Franco gown was "an ill-proportioned cleavage dress that was a mixture of drag queen and pool hustler." Ouch.

She also called Mariah Carey, who wore a body-hugging Hervé Leger, a "convincing battleship in black" and made reference to her forceful bosoms.
She blames the apparent poor fashion choices on designers who "prefer to stay away from the awards shows, and the actresses, worried about bad publicity, [who] don't know the difference anymore."

Do you agree with Horyn's reviews? Were Golden Globes fashions that atrocious?

Read the rest of her thoughts here and here.
