Mariah Carey's low-cut Herve Leger dress at the Golden Globe Awards two weeks ago caused quite a buzz -- both good and bad. Some thought it was sexy; others, including New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horn, found it to be in poor taste. It looks like she decided to leave a little more to the imagination at the Screen Actor's Guild Awards over the weekend in a one-shoulder red gown with (of course) a rhinestone butterfly detail. If Mimi's going to cover up, you can bet she's going to do it in a show-stopping color.
Also in a show-stopping color: Mariah's 'Precious' co-star, Gabourey Sidibe. After the Globes, we said her dress was a little matronly for such a young woman. This electric-blue gown is more youthful and fun, and it fits her personality.
Mo'Nique, who took home the best supporting actress prize, wore a more neutral shade than her cast mates, but the choice didn't make her stand out any less. The old-Hollywood-style gown was glamourous and very flattering on the actress-comedian's slimmed-down frame.

Everyone seemed to have dressed their absolute best! Mariah gave the girls a night off and I have to admit her dress is all that, Mo' really accentuated her weight loss with a dress with flowing-type short sleeves, and the color and style of Gaborney's dress was perfect for her.

Now, Monique's dress is more like it. The dress she wore at the Golden Globes just exposed too much skin. You have to be very slender and good arms to pull that off especially on tv. For the Oscars I would like to see her wear something like this. Or she wore an absolute stunning gown one night on her talk show. It was gold and had a sheen. It had sleevees and was v neck. She looked stunning. Monique is reallly a beautiful woman.
