You might think the NAACP Image Awards were all about 'Precious,' which won in most of the categories it and its actors were nominated in. But at BV on Style, they were a little bit about the fashion, too. The celebrities, who seemed split over whether this show is a floor-length gown affair or a flirty cocktail dress situation, came dressed to impress. Jill Scott looked amazing in a form-fitting sparkling knee-length shift, winner Gabourey Sidibe went retro in a flapper-inspired number and icon Cicely Tyson wore a gender-bending pantsuit that was flattering and unique. Click through for BV's picks for the hottest (and not so hot) from the NAACP Image Awards red carpet.
The Emmys Red Carpet
Victoria Rowell: What was that, Victoria Rowell? You're a Barack Obama fan? We would never have guessed... Look, we're all for people expressing their political opinions, but use your words, people. NEVER your Emmy gowns. Let this be a lesson.

Chandra Wilson: This could be just a plain ol' trumpet dress (which was seen on many an actress last night), but the splattered floral design makes this flattering gown something special.

Heidi Klum & Seal: The very pregnant nominee and her very proud husband were chic in all-black. Red carpet choices for women in this stage of pregnancy are usually muumuu-inspired; props to Klum for going skintight and sexy.

Kim Kardashian: Wearing a white dress in a sea of dark colors is a sure way to stand out. We're pretty sure Kim K knew this when she chose this look, but we like the streamlined asymmetrical top and simple hoops.

LL Cool J: Here's the problem: every time LL insists on wearing his signature Kangol to formal events, we criticize him for not dressing for the occasion. But then, when he takes it off, all we want him to do is put it back on. Sorry, LL!

Padma Lakshmi: It doesn't take much for this model/foodie/Emmy nominee to look good, so of course she looks beautiful in this purple gown. However, we'd really like for that weird red thing on her hip to please pack its knives and go.

Shar Jackson: Why was Shar Jackson at the Emmys? More importantly, why is she wearing a prom dress that looks like it was sewn by Denise Huxtable circa 1984?
Vanessa Williams: Always a red carpet pro, the glamorous Emmy nominee didn't necessarily blow us away with this blue gown, but the dress and actress (and earrings!) made for a beautiful combination.

I thought that Jill Scott looked beautiful on the Red Carpet and on stage with her performance. What a beautiful song! She has an amazing voice! The dress that Anika Noni Rose wore was nice but I didn't like the cut where she shown cleavage. Ms Tyson and Ms. Gabby looked nice. Ms. Tyson still has it goin on and is a classy lady. I am glad Gabby won award, she was so humble and grateful. Ms.Gabrielle Union was workin that mini! I loved that dress! That's my girl!
But as far as Ms. Keri, her dress was OVER THE TOP! Too much for the Red Carpet! Ms. Regina King's dress and color didn't look good for this occasion. She is a beautiful woman and wished she could have picked something to show off her beautiful curves? I am GLAD Ms. Taraji TONED IT DOWN! I got tired of seeing her on past awards shows with her breast all coming out of dress. I enjoyed the performances but wished there were more performers? Good show!

I love the numerous pictures, but as is the case when you start naming everyone in the photos - you make mistakes. Example: Errors... C.Tysone, Jamie Foxx, and more. Please go back and review the pics and make the corrections throughout.

Keri Hilson is not over dressed. That's exactly what black tie formal is. Now some of the other celebs could have done a little better in my opinion.

Wow, they all look so good. Jill looks fabulous, Taraji, Keisha Knight Pullman, Anika, Selena, Tatiana Ali, Sandra O and others look really nice. Oh Kimberly Elise looks like a doll, she is so cute. Wyclef wife is gorgeous, I love her skin and color. I didn't like Eva's, Omarosa's, Keri's and Regina King's outfits. The men looked nice in their suits.

It is nice to see more celebrities going back to the classic and formal look. So many shows have plummeted to humiliating depths of poor taste: pasties on the boobs, strategic rips near private parts, asses hanging out; however, this display demonstrates a step in the right direction. As a black woman, I feel it is a breath of fresh air to see these ladies dress tastefully, with style. Best of all, style was not limited to just the skinny girls. This gives girls and women of all sizes and backgrounds a positive glimpse at what we are at our best.

WOW, another show just for blacks. If we had one just for whites then Jesse and Al would say we were racists. What a racist society those blacks are.

Spoken like a true ass. Whether it's true or not, you've gone out of your way to spew out something for the sole purpose of creating hard feelings.
