Black Hollywood seems to be in familiar territory this awards season with two surprisingly talented women nominated in top categories. With stakes high, Mo'Nique and Gabourey Sidibe will have the world's eyes on them at the Academy Awards this Sunday night and they can't disappoint on the red carpet. If the Golden Globes Awards were any indication of what we can expect to see them wearing at the Oscars, then these 'Precious' stars will surely dazzle in bold-hued gowns that complement their curvaceous bodies. Because Mo'Nique and Gabby are 'Precious' to us, we can't help but root for them to rule the red carpet in style! BV has come up with Oscar gown predictions that will surely help the two leading ladies blindside their fashionable competition.STYLE STATS
Actress: Mo'Nique
Oscar Nomination: Best Supporting Actress
Golden Globes Style: Strapless metallic gold Reem Acra dress, Everlon diamond knot earrings and Stuart Weitzman "Delovely" sandals in gold supple kid
Fashion Faux Pas Fix: Mo'Nique Loves to show off her unshaven legs

STYLE STATS
Actress: Gabourey Sidibe
Oscar Nomination: Best Actress
Golden Globes Style: Emerald silk chiffon gown with a sparkling bejeweled waistline by Los Angeles-based African-American designer Kevan Hall. The gown was accented with a Kwiat diamond necklace, Kwiat diamond bangle, and vintage Swarovski silver clutch
Fashion Faux Pas Fix: Choosing garments that reveal unflattering parts of her figure

Prediction: Sidibe's powerful performance in 'Precious; has catapulted the relatively-unknown actress into the spotlight. The 26-year-old star can't afford to make red-carpet blunders if she plans to sustain the momentum of her career after the Oscars are over. This is her time to shine. Sidibe needs to make an unforgettable entrance Sunday night, because who's to say she'll be given another role worthy of an Oscar nod? Black is timeless and classic. We love this black crepe satin gown with lace detail from Edition by Georges Chakra's fall 2010 collection recently shown at New York Fashion Week. This dress is elegant, but the beaded bust and sleeves makes it young and modern -- perfect for a twenty-something young lady like Sidibe. The cap sleeves will work well to minimize Sidibe arms, but the length is not too long, so she won't look matronly. Sidibe does not need to hide her body in tons of fabric, which is why is we like the contrast of the lace front at the top of the gown. We would even go as far as adding a slim belt to this gown to further clinch Sidibe's waist. No matter what your size is, control-top undergarments are key to looking seamless, and we love the Waist Cincher Shaper Slimming Tummy Shaper by Summit Fashions. Sidibe should definitely wear a shaper to help create an hourglass figure for her curvy frame.

marylandman003 - do you think you can segregate us? I'm black or negro, as you say, and you certainly aren't segregating me.

Gabourey Sidibe- The night of "Golden Globes Style" is her Light. She will win something. Green is her "Passion". Go for the Gold. Her arm are to Big to show off at this "Time" on the runway. She is still a Pretty Girl; inside out from the heart to soul.

Marylandman and Bill are more than likely the same person and most likely Black. This person is just seeking attention by making silly and offensive comments, aka trolling. English grammar definitely isn't this persons specialty.

The 2nd and 3rd comments are very offensive, wrong and rude. Your just haters who can not stand what you have called us down through the years, mammies and apes have rised to the top and will continue to inspite of what you think of our race. So when us Mammies and Apes continue to Achieve, sticks and stone may hurt our bones but your words will never harm or stop us.Go get your Oscars Monique and Gabourey!

Well, it's funny that no one noticed the mistake in the article! Mo'Nique is up for Best Supporting Actress and Gabourey for Best Actress - not the other way around! And about the race issue: As a 17yr old, I'm appalled by your ignorance...

Let's see....Sidibe looks better in green, but that particular gown is to mature for her. She's only 26. That's a 60 year old's gown. The gold is perfect for Monique.
For Bill/Marylandman....I don't wish your pain on anyone. You are in "pathetic" pain
