Easter's Must-Have Accessory???? It's not Easter without a big, pretty crown! Here are 10 stylish hats for under $100!
All I can say is that in this bad economy, there is no such thing as a “MUST HAVE”, especially a hat to impress someone. I say pay your mortgages or credit card balances, and put some decent food on the table….things that are really important and needed. That is why America is in such a big mess we are in, its articles like this that tell women that they “must have” it. As credit cards interest rates sky rocket, charge baby charge it seems to be of a selfish impulse nature!!!! With unemployment so high and the uncertain of the job market among the black race, who needs a fancy hat for a one-time use on Easter Sunday? I think that many women have enough pretty clothes in their closet that will suit them very well on Easter Sunday. We are a nation of people so far in debt, and we don’t need to buy something on impulse anymore just because an article tells women (men and teenagers as well) that they must have it.

Regardless of your argument, the are many African American people that will splurge for Easter. It is a tradition. Some will where what they have in their closet and only splurge on a hat, purse and shoes, some parents may forgo something new, but get the children a new outfit. It is only one day out of the year, however clothes and hat can be worn over again. I am sure there are many responsible people out there and they are just as concerned with their situation than you are. So, do not worry about others who make choices according to their desires

I agree with Timothy, what does Easter have to do with buying big women’s hats? So if women don’t wear large crown hats, it’s not EASTER? I thought that Easter has mush more religious meaning than that. With or without wearing a hat – it will be Easter, and of the real purpose we are celebrating it. Bad article on AOL.

Where is your holiday spirit. Yes, Easter is a special day, and that means that people want to dress up and celebrate the historical Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He would not mind us looking well. We all have debt. But, we all want to look nice. Some people take extra jobs to buy extras for the holidays. I hope you and your family looks nice and hopefully you all got something new--I did! And I am happy too. Praise God and Happy Easter!

It won’t be long before China or the Arab countries in buying our country out for being so far in debt. Essentially that in time we will be handing over our country in a silver platter to these foreign countries for the astronomically debts we owe them, in that we can’t pay them back of the trillions of dollars we are in. America is so broke, but we continue to spend money on things that we don’t need. But I blame the media and Hollywood for this.

To Cindy. To each it's owen You should see me I refuse to dress up in a cotton print dress, And called it dress up . You didn't bring anything in this world, you will not take any thing out . Leaving your insurance money behind for your childrens, It will be spent before your body get's cold. As the other lady said , The only thing she was going to leave her kids was a ALOAN.

I guess that AOL is saying that going to church this Easter Sunday without wearing a stylish big pretty crown, I am truly missing out on Easter. As a fact, I will not be wearing a hat at all to church. So according to this article, it means that I had missed out on the meaning of Easter or of Easter itself?

I like the extremely large black hat, for I can use it daily on my farm in the warmer weather here in PA. I can douse it with kerosene and it will keep the pesty gnats, mosquitoes, and horse flies away from buzzing around my head all day long. But I wonder if the hat comes in white, so it will keep me much cooler in the direct sun as I work in my garden / yard.

I am a young black professional woman, and I and many of my girlfriends will never wear such large gaudy looking floral display or large bow type hats on our heads. We like showing off our natural looking healthy hair.

I agree...as a "20 something" Black woman I've never worn a hat like that unless it was to wear to the Kentucky Derby, or for a party for the Kentucky Derby in my city. I think Black women need to let the hat thing go. It is a bit dated at this point. Save your money.
