2010 is turning out to be quite the year for actress Zoe Saldana. With the success of 'Avatar,' four new movies and her recent engagement to longtime beau Keith Britton -- Saldana appears to be on a hot streak. That's probably why Calvin Klein decided to join in on the action. The company announced Wednesday in a press conference that it has chosen the Dominican beauty as the face of the company's new line of lingerie, Calvin Klein Envy.
"We are excited to have Zoe Saldana as the face of Calvin Klein Underwear and Calvin Klein Envy, our new product launch," said Bob Mazzoli, chief creative Officer of Calvin Klein Underwear. "Zoe brings the campaign to life, and her universal appeal will enable us to continue to expand our dialogue with our consumers worldwide."
Saldana -- who is also the face for Avon's Eternal Magic fragrance -- could not be more thrilled about her latest endeavor. "It's very exciting for me to be associated with such an iconic, globally recognized brand like Calvin Klein Underwear." Calvin Klein Envy's ads -- which were shot by renowned photographer Mikael Jansson in New York City -- will be featured in the fall 2010 Calvin Klein Underwear global campaign.

"Congrats" to Zoe in becoming the new face of Calvin Klein and may there be LOTS and LOTS of OTHER NEW FACES OF COLOR AS WELL! Zoe is so beautiful, talented, and intelligent woman. I wish her best wishes!
It's nice to see a beautiful Model (S) of color on the front of any mag, the face of any designer's products, commercials, and on the runway, but there are not ENOUGH MINORITIES? The statistic shows that there is a lack of diversity of minorities. It's the truth and it is SAD!

Remember African Model/ "Diamond" Actor Djimon Hounsou, it was the first time in 1982 CK had used an African model for its underwear ad. That brotha is fine and can act his butt off. You go Kimora!
David Agbodji is the first Nigerian model for Calvin Klein in February 2010. It's about time? We still got a long way to go.

As far as Calvin Klein, Lyndsey, Scott was the first model of color to walk for Calvin Klein as an exclusive in 2009 I read an article on a blog from Pony-Ryder and didn't like the questions that were asked to Lyndsey about her hair and woman of color?.
Pony-Ryder Q: Lots of girls of color have problems with the hair. How do you deal with yours?
Lyndsey Scott A: I take special care with my hair and I go to the hair salon quite often to keep it healthy.
Look, there are white woman that have problems with hair to? She said how does she deal with her's? How does EVERY WOMAN DEAL WITH THEIR OWN HAIR? Stupid and IGNORANT question to ask! Woman of all color have different texture of hair and have problems and it's not like it can't be fixed? There is no problem in my eyes! Woman just got to take care and maintain their own hair. Why would she say lots and lots of "Woman of Color do"?

I feel there should be more minorities models PERIOD. It's like the designers don't want to give an opportunity to beautiful woman of color all like that? To me, that's a problem. I feel that all woman of color are so DIVERSED, UNIQUE, BEAUTIFUL, and VERSITILE! It is nice to see different shades of color and hope that more will be featured EVERY WHERE and doors will be opened to a lot of opportunities!.
I feel that not just Calvin Klein and other designers, and MAGS like "Vogue", ect.. should STEP IT UP and have more woman and men of color on mag covers, runways, for endorsements, advertisement ads, commercials ect... PERIOD! Woman of color are BEAUTIFUL TOO and Men of color are HANDSOME TOO and are QUALIFIED! This world sees in my eyes, ONLY ONE RACE of being beautiful and always puts down woman and men of color about their skin, hair, body type, ect.... in the modeling world, Hollywood, media, and today's society. It's like you have to look a certain way, wear your hair a certain way, in order to to be ACCEPTED! They all need to accept ALL and MOVE ON! It's 2010!
