The holiday season is alive in the capital city and First Lady Michelle Obama has been making the official rounds and looking fabulous while doing so. Michelle and President Obama kept family close these past few days, proving that togetherness really is the most important part of the holidays!
The First Family battled cold weather with style when lighting the National Christmas Tree. Michelle -- wearing a fitted black and gold embroidered coat by
Narciso Rodriguez -- showed women everywhere that dressing for winter doesn't have to mean stuffy and bulky. We'll never know if it was by accident, but Michelle and the President matched accessories, both in red scarves and black leather gloves.
What a festive First Family! The gorgeous family came together with a few special friends for the
'Christmas in Washington' celebration and concert at the National Building Museum. As usual, Michelle Obama wowed, standing out in a black lace, square neck dress with a full skirt. Her large sparkly earrings and patent pumps perfectly complimented her elegant, ballerina inspired look. Style clearly runs in the family, as Michelle's mother
Marian Robinson looked equally fabulous in her olive Leafy Lace dress by
Talbots. The first daughters Sasha and Malia, showed off their growing fashion sense as well.
'Christmas in Washington' will air on
TNT on Sunday, December 19th, at 8pm EST.
The First Lady joined the President at Harriet Tubman Elementary for the signing of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010, a bill she helped champion. For the event, Michelle chose a figure flattering gray scoop neck dress that she accessorized with a large Lucite flower pin. She kept her look modern and weather appropriate by adding camel-colored boots to the knee.
Mrs. Obama brought family dog Bo and St. Nick with her as she continued the White House tradition of reading 'The Night Before Christmas' at the Children's National Medical Center. While Bo opted for a tuxedo and Santa for his suit, Michelle kept it classic in a Sparklegate Cardigan from
J.Crew, black trousers and a knit turtleneck.

Concert...This was Christmas not a cocktail
party..and as for the Kennedy Center Honors..
it looks like Michelle was wearing upholstery
as a dress.
