It's hard not to see to the reach of rapper Nicki Minaj's popularity, especially now that she's hit mainstream media. This month, be sure to pick up a copy of Elle's May 2011 music issue to read about her career aspirations and view her five-page fashion spread wearing designs by Mark Fast, Givenchy, and Jean Paul Gaultier.

Other iconic female artists to grace their owns versions of the cover include Gwen Stefani, Robyn and Aretha Franklin. BV on Style has the photos of Minaj, who ditched her wild wigs and outlandish outfits for high fashion.

High fashion?..lol This is exactly the kind of black woman that black women don't need to have, or view as iconic! Then BW continue to ask, and wonder why black women in general continue to be viewed as being undesirable! She's certainly not attractive, so what's up?

Hasn't "Greg" done his job if he gets ppl upset and they respond? My mother always said IGNORANCE craves atten...take that away so goes the POWER!!!

Now I don't like Nicki's image (as a mom) but I think she's VERY creative. I purchased her mixtape and CD for my baby's b day.
