Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon are awaiting the arrival of their twins, and the couple has already begun prepping their Bel Air, California estate and New York City home for the babies. Carey reportedly hired world-famous interior decorators to design a cozy spaces for the twins and reportedly spent $100,000 on the designs.

"I wanted to create a beautiful, tranquil, cozy environment for the babies. Everything matches, but pieces are individualized to celebrate the twins as separate entities," Mariah Carey reported to 'Life & Style' magazine in the latest issue on now on newsstands.
Mario Buatta designed the New York City nursery and the California nursery was designed by Gail Sedigh of AFK Furniture. It has orangey-pink clouds in a blue sky with golden stars based on two songs Carey wrote, 'Underneath the Stars' and 'Close My Eyes.'
"Sometimes I just sit in the nursery and stare at the ceiling because I love it so much. To me, it symbolizes wanting my children to dream as big as possible and to let their imaginations be unbridled," she told 'Life & Style'.
The platinum nursery will give the babies a fresh start into lives of luxury but Carey said "it's going to be a delicate balance between raising them around glitz and glamour and keeping them grounded. One thing I'm sure of is that I'll be grateful for the twins every day, no matter what."

"CONGRATS" again, to Mimi & Nick! Can't wait to see pics of the babies soon? But, $100,000? I'm sorry, Mimi & Nick may have the $$$$$ but I think it is way too EXTRAVAGENT for a nursery? I was thinking something bright, colorful, with animal characters for the lil ones? What would their twins know about chandlers, expensive furniture, Designer names, bling this and bling that, ect..? In my opinion, a Nursery should be designed to APEAL & be POPIN with COLORS, TO EDUCATE, BE FUN, STIMULATE, a infant(s) not for so much of what the parents with $$$$$ want? A few Stuffed animals here in there is not going to cut it? Some of that $$$$$ could have went to an organization(s)for an important cause or something?
I remember watching Kimora Simmons Reality show when she had her first son. The woman went all out but I tell you one thing, it was colorful and all what a nursery should be? Kimora went all out for her two daughters too. In my opinion, Celebs, Singers, ect.. when they have $$$$$ they just be OVER SPENDING and is UNECESSARY? I understand they all want the best, but there are ways to save $$$$$ and still have a nice look? I'm just sayin?

@ Dime Piece. I agree with you. In times of economic harship it is like a slap in the face when Mariah and Nick spend $100,000 on a nursery. Why the excess? and yes you can a lovely nursery for a lot less and yes it is OVER SPENDING and EXTREMELY UNNECESSARY. I have seen Kimora daughters on tv and they are obnoxious and spoiled. I hope that Mariah and Nick keep their children grounded.

Kimora's daughters are cute & YES, they are too spoiled, child? I did watch a episode lasts year on her show and Kimora took the two girls to a place for the unfortunate families & children. I will say, they all volunteered, helped, and donated clothing, necessesity items, and toys. I thought that was a good message on the show to GIVE BACK & VOLUNTEER their time? I think that was the only thing I saw the whole family reach out to do? Hopefully, they all do more than that? I too, hope that Nick & Mimi keep their kids grounded? I really hope they don't give their children everything that they see, appreicate & be humble of just the little things in life?

Congrats to Nick and Mariah! First time parents and they've money. Nick may not have Mariah's paper but he's making some good paper, too. Of course Mariah is going to go all out when it comes to the twins but that nursery doesn't look like it's for the children to enjoy, it looks more like a place where Mariah can go and enjoy being with the twins.
Her and Nick plans to keep the twins grounded? Really? How? Because once they're old enough and see how their nursery compares to the average kids at the sandbox, good luck with the grounded part. Correction, the twins won't be playing with the have-nots (too often). Sleepovers are going to be like mini vacations for the friends of the twins (if the twins are grounded) they will be friends with the have-and have-nots.
I'm joking about the whole grounded thing but truthfully, I've never pictured Mariah to be low maintenance and I doubt if her kids will be. Nick is the man of the house/father but Mariah is the one who wears the pants in their relationship so final say on how the kids will be raised will be hers. Nick knows where his lane is.
Besides neither one of them came from money therefore they should get a pass on the nursery. The both want their children to have what they never had. This is why I doubt Mariah's story about keeping the twins grounded.

How did I know this being BV someone was going to hate on them having money, economy blah blah blah? If they can afford to treat their kids nice go for it. A lot of rich kids don't turn out spoiled and ungrateful. I think it's unfair for me to expect someone worth millions to live by my "poor (well I'm middle class)" standards because if I were rich I wouldn't! Now I luv Suze Orman and her fave joked is "I can afford that and I wouldn't buy it!" hahaha
I laughed listening to the billionaires (I think it is Rupert Murdoch or Gates) say "I earned this money so they need to earn theirs." As PR hungry as Trump is I think he did an excellent job with his kids. All educated and taking care of themselves. Most of the Cosby kids turned out very educated as well!!!
Kimora got rich using black men so don't brag on her!!!!She does luv her girls though so for that I applaud her. Too many horrible mothers abusing kids today.

How ridiculous! She's black and if a black man want to help his woman that speaks volumes for him. Stop hating

The picture of the nursery for Mariah's twins was truly a feast for my eyes! I enjoyed looking at it (even though I'm well past child-bearing age)
just as I enjoy looking at pictures in fashion and home decor magazines because getting a glimpse of how the rich and famous "do" fashion gives me an opportunity to step out of my ordinary life and to fantasize and then to think about how I can use my own good taste to tailor their designs to my lifestyle and budget! Beyond that, I can let it go! I choose not to be envious or to criticize how the rich and famous spend their money or raise
their children!
