"People actually think I'm Alek when I'm walking down the street," said new model Grace Bol in 'New York Magazine'. "Several people have chased me down just to get my autograph, and even when I explain to them that I'm not Alek, they think I'm lying! All I tell them is 'I'm Grace.'"
Bol, 21, who stands at 5-foot, 10-inches, and the 5-foot, 11-inch Alek Wek, 34, have similar striking features such as long limbs and dark ebony skin. Both were born in Sudan but Bol immigrated to and was discovered in Kansas as a child.
She's a tomboy by nature who was encouraged to model by her peers in the Midwest and loves food. "I don't know about other models, but I eat," she said. "I just try and eat healthy by eating all types of foods. Once a week, though, I will eat whatever I want."
In five years, she hopes to return to Sudan and provide jobs to those struggling. "I'm confident I would never be one of those people who spend their money on materialistic things," she explained. "I want to go back home and help people."
Bol has already walked the Fall 2011 Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood and Maison Martin Marigela shows and is starting off her career in high fashion on the right foot.

I LOVE the look of these ladies!!! In the military my girlfriend nicknamed me Gracie after Grace Jones (Strange') because I was tall skinny and had her look. I grew up on Iman, Naomi, chocolcate sistas who command a runway and were fierce!!! Do yo thang ladies......
Even today in my barberhop the guys (a sista cuts my hair) beg me not to change my look because not many women can wear OUR natural cuts!!! As Elgin Charles would say "Fabulous" with his funny dancing. hahahaha

I have to concur with you brothers! These are "real" black women, not those that continue to get all faked up in their usual sad wantna be attempt to look just like WW with all the usual fake hair, colored contact lens, and skin lighters! Then, they get an attitude with others, that don't think that they're not as pretty as non-black women! We, recently not that long ago witnessed just that with the article in "Psychology Today".That, article infuriated BW to no end when the world was simply saying, and telling the truth by the way, and also ..in their own way that BW were less attractive, than non-BW! As, BW present themselves today as fake WW, yes they are less attractive. Because, that's not who they are! In reality the majority of BW just don't care to be black, that being the case, then just "say it"! Or, even want to look like these sisters, because of their own personal shame, humiliation, and denial about who they really are! That's, the problem with the majority of BW today, because in reality they're just running away from who they are, and towards who they really desire to be! That's a WW. BW are willing to be black, but only on their own terms, and also at the same time also want the WW's look! To me that clearly represents a serious psychological problem, and is reflective of a core low self esteem process, and a perpetual ongoing denial process at work! And, they continue to embrace the WW's standards of beauty because they're ashamed of who, and what God intented for them to be. Even, a "bug wit" can see how most light skin BW's attitudes are towards most dark skin BW. And, what's more sad it that Essence magazine has promoted that very same attitude, and mind set for years! That's pathetic! If, BW are as strong as they think they are, then why not find that same courage, and strength within themselves to rediscover their own beauty, and love for their blackness?

Have to say I agree fellas, and I am female. I am tired of fake hair and tons of make up. Beauty was meant to be real.

You completely missed the point! Which is that both of these "true" women of color are beautiful! These are two black women that are, beautiful, and not fake wantna be WW like the majority of BW are, and want to be today. What's most important is that they're not ashamed of their lineage, or their blackness like the overwhelming majority of BW are, and continue to be.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU not all dark or all light people look alike. PEOPLE we need to start focusing on the features. Then there is the other issue, where two people look just alike except, one is dark and the other light. Yet, people cannot see it because of the color difference.
