Although the shoot happened more than 10 years ago, Vogue editor Anna Wintour recently revealed that she "strongly encouraged" Oprah Winfrey to lose 20 pounds for her 1998 Vogue cover.
And Oprah did it!
'It was a very gentle suggestion,' said Wintour during an unaired portion of Sunday's '60 Minutes' interview with Morley Safer. "I went to Chicago to visit Oprah, and I suggested that it might be an idea that she lose a little bit of weight. I said simply that you might feel more comfortable. She was a trouper!"

Rozanda "Chilli" Thomas of TLC is surprisingly conservative about family. This 38-year-old single mother believes in home cooking, spending quality time with her kids and minimal television or computers. A fashion icon of sorts, Chilli broke barriers for women in her TLC heyday, bringing a youthful yet not overtly sexy style to popular culture. While on a family vacation with Tom and Suri, Katie Holmes hit the beach near Rio de Janeiro in this blue one piece.

A Fridge
Regardless of whether you have a wonderful sized meal plan, your fridge may come in handy with leftovers or when you feel like stocking it with bottled drinks.
Computer
The convenience of a computer is essential when sending your kids off to college. Forget the hike to the computer lab across campus students need a computer in the comfort of their room. A printer comes in handy as well. Depending on whether your child plans to carry his laptop around campus, you might opt for a desk top since they're lighter on the pockets.
Snacks
You will surely survive with off of a meal plan but it doesn't hurt to stock up on snacks when you don't feel like leaving your dorm room. Bottled water, pop corn, cereal and Ramen noodles are all low budget snacks to stock up on. Just be weary of the freshman 15.
Things from home
Some college students suffer from homesickness the first year. It's best to surround yourself with things like photos of the family, pillows or even stuffed animals. Anything that reminds your child of home.
MP3 Player
With all the stress that comes from school and exams, sometimes it's nice to block out the chaos in your life and even your roommate with music. It's nearly impossible to find students walking to class who aren't jamming to tunes.
Budget
Students who enter college often come in at the ripening age of 18. A great time for credit cards. Parents beware, your child may end up ruining their credit at a young age
Alarm Clock
When you're in college you don't have the luxury of getting awaken by your parents. It's now your responsibility to get to class on time so alarm clocks are a must. But keep your roommate in mind. You shouldn't wake him up ever morning with a blow horn alarm.
Cleaning supplies
Now you don't necessarily need to bring in the rubber gloves, mop and gas mask but it doesn't hurt to bring along Clorox all purpose wipes for spills or dust. Vacuums and brooms come in handy too depending if you have a carpeted dorm.
Bedding
What most parents aren't aware of is that most college beds are twin sized but extra long and require special sheets. When shopping keep your eye open for sheets that clearly state 'extra long' or else your child may come up short.
Shower shoes
You really don't know what some people do in the shower these days. College showers are known to be creeping with germs so spare yourself the fungus and purchase flip flops for the shower. You'll thank us later!
BET's newest reality TV series, 'Harlem Heights' chronicles the lives of a gaggle of young, upwardly mobile Harlemites who are ever ambitious, sometimes flirtatious and decidedly gorgeous. Not only are they distinct characters, they each have very specific style personalities which play out in their personal style choices. The lovely ladies of the show shed light on their splashy swagger.
Bridget, 26: The Classicist
Bridget is a law school student who keeps it simple, elegant and with flashes of panache...and bows.
Personal Style: I think a classic dresser is a good way to describe my personal style. You don't see me in a whole lot of wild colors, or crazy prints. I don't like to show off my body like that. I don't think you need all of that to be beautiful or sexy.
Favorite Designer: I have so many, Catherine Malandrino, Marc Jacobs. I like Carolina Herrera. I like Oscar de la Renta. That's the day, when I can wear Oscar to everything.
Favorite Store: I don't really have a favorite store. Because I'm a classic dresser, I've had pieces that have lasted six, seven, eight years. I think a good place for young black professionals to get reasonable suiting is Sisley.
Favorite Fragrance: Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb
Most prized fashion possession: My Manolo corset boots – they're not very expensive, but they're very distinctive and they're classic. They just make me feel confident.
With my last money I would buy....a Valentino dress. Something utterly ridiculous but it'd be totally worth it.
How has your style evolved in the last few years? It's definitely gotten more grown up. In terms of my career trajectory, to go from MTV to law school and going to the New York State Supreme Court three times a week, I had to drastically change my wardrobe.
My closet mostly consists of ...shoes
You're never fully dressed without...a classic handbag.
One fashion staple every woman must have...matching underwear
My fashion staple this season: I would say my bows – I wear tons of bows during the later part of the show. I think they're fun and quirky and fit my personality but still remain a little understated.
Style Icon: Iman. She strikes me as someone who is beautiful from the inside out. She is able to put on a sexy dress one day and a fabulous suit the next. She can pull off anything she puts on, but she knows what works best for her, yet she still is not afraid to take chances.
Brooke, 27: The Avante Garde
Sassy Brooke has a passion for Barney's Warehouse Sale, singleton earrings and marching to her own drum.
Personal Style: I would say my style is borne from 80s and early 90s fashion and convenience with vintage accessories. My personal style is kind of borne out of being bold to do whatever I want to do. I lose a lot of earrings so I said I was just going to start wearing one and people dig it. It works.
Favorite Designer: I don't really have one. I'm not really a label whore. I just like what nobody else has. Gucci fits me pretty well.
Favorite Store: Well, my favorite event is Barney's Warehouse Sale
Favorite Fragrance: I wear like body sprays and oils – I live down the street from 125th Street!
Most prized fashion possession: I have this jacket that's from a vintage shop from Japan. It's double sided one side is like leopard and the other side is just like wild, crazy, funky colors.
With my last money, I would buy...a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes
How has your style evolved in the last few years? Comfort. I used to think heels were necessary. But when I started hanging with Briana, she'd always find a way to wear cute, feminine things with slouchy boots. So I would say I left the fitted – where everything would have to be tight and cleavage, whereas now, I wear loose, comfortable stuff.
My closet mostly consists of ... shoes -- everything from sneakers to boots to patent leather heels, wedges. It's all over the place.
You're never fully dressed without...an earring.
One fashion staple every woman must have......a sick bag collection
My fashion staple this season ... jacket
Style Icon: Posh Beckham because she found her lane and executes to the fullest...we don't dress the same but she always wears something that you could imagine her in...and she's trendy yet feminine, and very confident!
Briana, 27: The Fashionista
This eclectic fashionista is a bag girl for days, loves vintage and even has a storage unit for her fashion overflow.
Personal Style: I don't have a particular lane I stay in I wake up in the morning and whatever I feel like, I do at that time.
Favorite Designer: Karl Lagerfeld – he does Fendi, he does Chanel, he does Lagerfeld collection, he's amazing.
Favorite store: My favorite store is in Kansas City, MO, it's called Boomerang. They have the best selection of vintage clothing that you can find anywhere.
Favorite Fragrance: I like Angel and I like Ferragamo
Most prized fashion possession: My Zucca Fendi Spy bag. I got that the first season that it came out; I saw a woman walking down 7th Avenue with it and I kinda freaked out. I never felt like I wanted to harm someone but I wanted to bop her over the head and get it.
With my last money, I would buy... I just started getting into leather jackets and it would probably be a Cavalli leather jacket.
How has your style evolved in the last few years? It's weird because each season kind of switches up for me. I have a staple piece and from that I build up. I own this huge storage [unit] on the West Side and I have so many clothes. Some people have their 'thing' but I just go over the place. It could change by the week; it just depends on my mood.
My closet mostly consists of ... Bags. I have over 100. I have about 40 Fendi bags. I've been addicted to bags since I was five years old.
You're never fully dressed without...a handbag
One fashion staple every woman must have...a nice jacket
My fashion staple this season: Cynthia Rowley has this bag called the Survivor Bag and it's like 21 pockets and it's patent leather. I've been a baguette girl for many years but lately I started switching it up. I can't leave the house without it.
Style Icon: Diana Ross. She changed the way black women were viewed in the arts, conquering music, print, and film. She could do it all, and introduced the world with the true meaning of Diva, reinventing herself decade after decade.
In what has definitely been a bad few weeks for celeb pooches, one of the two puppies recently adopted by Oprah Winfrey has died and the other is in critical condition.

In early March, Winfrey introduced 8-week-old Sadie to the world on her TV show. Sadie, a sweet blond cocker spaniel adopted from the Chicago PAWS shelter, is sibling to Ivan, who passed away last week from parvovirus -- a highly contagious infection that puppies are especially vulnerable to.
Style maven and Oprah BFF Gayle King revealed at a Valentino party last night that Sadie was also infected and is in the fore of everyone's thoughts.
"Sadie is in the hospital, but as you might expect, she is getting the best of care," King told US magazine. "I have fingers crossed, eyes closed. Prayers. We're all wishing Sadie will get better."
Says Dr. Jean Dobbs, a veterinarian who treated both puppies, "The puppy didn't make it, but he's teaching others how important this is to get vaccinated at the right times." Ivan apparently contracted the disease after receiving one parvo vaccination but before having a crucial booster shot.
In addition to Sadie, Winfrey is also mommy to two golden retrievers, Luke and Layla. In 2007, Winfrey tragically lost her beloved golden retriever Gracie, who choked on a plastic ball. Martha Stewart's chow chow puppy, Genghis Khan, was one of 17 dogs killed by a propane explosion at a boarding kennel in the Poconos last week.

Maybe it was Shakira. The international starlet shook, shimmied and rolled Indian fashion into the American mainstream during the 2006 VMAs. Before that, there was Madonna, who in the late '90s wore henna on her hands and saris to high-profile events. And if you want to take it waaaaay back, Princess Diana in 1992 made Indian fashion in the West all the rage after her trip to India and Pakistan.
Whoever deserves credit, Indian fashion is here and non-Indian celebrities all over are partaking in this colorful, bespoke couture. From bindis and tikkas on their foreheads to saris on their backs, mehendi on their bodies or antique Indian jewels in their ears, it looks as if Westerners have gotten sari-savvy in a big way. Rapper Snoop Dogg last year appeared in the Bollywood flick 'Singh is King' in a turban, and, this year, Bollywood is anticipating a lot more Hollywood presence, with Beyonce and Rihanna doing 'item numbers' in Bollywood movies – in Indian dress, we're sure.

My infatuation with fragrance began as a young girl playing dress up at my mother's vanity. It was the mid 1980s and I danced in the mirror with a belted over sequin top and my mother's high heels sliding on and off my tiny feet. Sitting before her collection of crystal and bejeweled bottles containing elusive liquids ranging in shades from soft amethyst to deep amber, I would pretend to be grown and beautiful...just like her.
Delicate floral fragrances embody the many facets of motherhood...feminine, passionate, joyful, engaging and intriguing.
For those last minute shoppers, you can just grab the following scents -- and for all moms -- from the one who holds it down at work to the "fly" mom to the new mom to the grand dame of them all, the grandmom.
