While folks were still whispering about the Rihanna and Chris Brown drama, the NAACP celebrated 100 years of service with a spectacular awards show. The 40th Annual NAACP Image Awards acknowledged all of our brightest stars and the red carpet was filled with a who's who of the music and movie industries.

Here are Style Spotter's best picks of the NAACP red carpet fashion.

Halle Berry looked like her sexy self once again with a red carpet gown that made us all remember who Halle is... did we ever forget?

Beyonce left Sasha Fierce at home and surprised us with this Grecian style dress. The dress was a different take on her usual red carpet gowns, which can be extremely form-fitting, with massive amounts of beading and sequins. However, this coral color dress compliments her skin tone and the simplicity of the dress is quite chic.

Taraji P. Henson was like sunshine on the red carpet. Not only was the dress an excellent color choice, but the design kept with red carpet trends.

Stylish crews have been around for many years. Jesus Christ and his Apostles paraded the town in bohemian desert-chic attire. Coco Chanel and her style counsel ruled the streets of Paris and beyond with simple palettes and intricate designs, and Naomi Campbell and her super model posse owned the runways with fierce attitudes and high-end designer clothing. And how could we ever forget the ultimate fashion crew -- b-boys and b-girls who adorned dookie ropes, asymmetric hairstyles, and ripped-bleach jeans?

Well, Mr. Kanye West has brought back the style crew in full effect, with snap-fresh boys in leopard tights, colorful gear, Louis Vuitton briefcases, peacoats and blazers. Check out a few of Style Spotter's favorite fashion crews.

Kanye's Clique

During the Paris 2009 Runway shows Kanye and Crew pranced stomped around Paris turning heads and keeping with the current trend, "Haute Hip-Hop." This style mixes the geek chic look with high-end designs and Hip Hop styles.

Cheers are in order for newly pregnant fashion icons Kelis and Kimora Lee Simmons! These two powerhouse women will most likely carry their love of fashion throughout the next few months as bellies expand, breast grow and hips widen. But a few extra pounds of weight and swollen extremities are only a slight challenge for these style mavens who live for fashion -- in their own distinct ways.

Kelis

Kelis's style has always been, well, slightly different, a little avant-garde and somewhat peculiar, to say the least. But with her impending belly growth, Style Spotter is certain that the 'Milkshake' singer who brings all the boys to the yard will maintain her fresh style. Nas's wife will give us an edgy pregnancy look, which fashion-forward, soon-to-be moms can appreciate. This is Kelis's first pregnancy. Nas has daughter Destiny from a previous relationship. Here are a few fashion ideas for the pregnant Kelis.

There is something to be said about the powerful relationship of sisters. It 's honest, gentle, kind and nurturing, as well as grating, harsh, possessive and severe. It stands the test of lovers, friends and, in some cases, other family members. Sisters complement each other like a Chanel bag complements a strand of pearls, classic and forever. See one chic sis and the other isn't too far behind.

Beyonce and Solange Knowles

Let's face it, Beyonce has always been the star. She was the lead singer of the successful female group Destiny's Child. She is a top-selling artist, has won many Grammys and now lands lead roles in major Hollywood films. Younger sister Solange, while proud of Beyonce, has always struggled to shine next to the bright light that is Sasha Fierce! Solange is doing just fine with her latest album 'Sol-Angel & the Hadley St. Dreams,' her cute honey-child son, Daniel, and business ventures with dad Matthew Knowles. These two southern gals have two distinct styles, but both are fresh, current and glam.

Can you smell that? Spring is in the air! Look past the extremely low temperatures, and you'll realize that we are just a few weeks away from spring. Spring is this Style Spotter's favorite season, because everything and everyone is in bloom. As flowers blossom, chic gals unload heavy coats and burst into cute and easy attire.

Style Spotter has spotted Spring's four top trends for 2009.

The Return of the Goddess

Grecian draping flowed on the Spring '09 runways. This sexy yet simple style was also hot on the red carpet -- everyday fashionistas covet it since it allows room for a girl's natural belly bulge. Although popular for many Spring moons now, it seems as if this classic style will stay awhile.

Thakoon - Spring '09 Runway
Marios Schwab - Spring '09 Runway

This year we must follow the lead of President Obama (doesn't that sooo good!), and work together to help save the economy, environment and most importantly each other. We fashionistas will do our part as well... by spending, but not over spending. and K-Mart is just the place to consume and conserve a few dollars.

Save the gasps and oh-mys for later. Let us explain. It just so happened that this Style Spotter entered a K-Mart after searching midtown Manhattan for a thermometer (very long story). Store clerks at Duane Reade directed us to K-Mart's hardware department for our need. K-Mart? I hadn't been there for years but dashed on over to K-Mart anyway, and found oh-so-cute, fabulously trendy clothing at such affordable prices! There were acid wash jeans for $14.99, sequined tanks and t-shirts for $7.99 and chic, yes chic, dresses for $24.00.

Surprised? Yes. Shopped and bought great spring pieces? Yes and yes. A change is certainly coming...

Here are Style Spotter's top picks from K-Mart.

Tonight marks the official start of the 2009 awards season with the 66th Annual Golden Globes Awards. Starlets made their way through the chaotic red carpet with lots of sass and loads of confidence. Form-fitting, fierce gowns, pretty, pale pastels and timeless tiers ruled the G.G.'s carpet. Style Spotter spotted the best of the best.

Form Fitting, Fierce Gowns

Now when it comes to wearing a sex pot gown, Beyonce, Jennifer and Eva know that it must be tight, but not too tight, it must have a long, sleek silhouette and most importantly it must make all men want to come hither. Meow!

Jennifer Lopez - Marchesa (Is it me or is this look very similar to that infamous grammy dress?)

Beyonce - strapless Elie Saab

Eva Longoria - vibrant, red Reem Acra gown

It breaks the hearts of fashion addicts worldwide when there is an awards show with televised red carpet special. Sigh! While the 2009 People's Choice Awards was inspirational ("Yes, We Can" intro by two time hostess Queen Latifah) and funny (Robin Williams' church moment), the show lacked innovative styles from our favorite celebrities. However, don't tune out just yet, there were some stars who brought award-winning trends to an otherwise dull night. Yawn.

Jenny Craig does this woman good. Queen Latifah looked amazing in her purple dress with beaded halter. The color of the dress complimented her skin tone and the beading gave her a little extra shine. Not that she needed it!

I am by no means psychic reader Miss Cleo, however this Style Spotter has a few style predictions for 2009. Style Spotter's Swarovski crystal ball tells us that women will dress with bold colors and assertive shapes. This year, self confidence and statement pieces will be the major accessory to any outfit.

Women Are From Venus - Futuristic Fashion

High shoulders, metallics, blacks, whites, leather, a mix of 80s style with a dominatrix sensibility, bring forth the future of dressing. Beyonce, Lady Gaga and Rihanna do this look well. Try a high shoulder dress, keep it simple, and may the fashion force be with you!
