When you were a child, one of the first questions people always asked was: What is your favorite color? For many of us, although we do have a color we absolutely love, that color may not be right for us. Colors have many different meanings and can effect you as well as everyone around you. Before we get to that do you understand what colors symbolize? Well if not let me break it down.

Blue
Blue comes in so many shades in the world around us. From the beautiful sky to the water of our oceans (technically) down to the color of some of our ink pens, the color blue is everywhere. Symbolizing peace, tranquility and being male, this color's claim to fame in fashion came with the development of denim. Nothing is like a cool blue pair of jeans to blend random colors together. Add the white tee from above and a blue Yankee fitted cap and you are good to go.

White
The ultimate color for your summer top, white is a symbol of pureness, newness and innocence. With the ability to reflect light, it helps to keep you cool on a hot day. Meshing perfectly with any outfit, you will look great all day until you get a stain. Susceptible to marks, dirty and food stains, your clean look will be ruined. Be careful when you eat while wearing white especially if its after Labor Day!

On July 31st, 2008, Spc. Andre Darnell Mitchell, 25, of Elmont, N.Y., died in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident. A soldier, he was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas. Adventurous by nature, he loved being in the military.

Passing on at the tender age of 25, he didn't have children but he had a little brother who looked up to him. He also had two older brothers and an older sister. Although his mom begged him not to go to the war, this young college graduate went.

Many people disagree with the war in Iraq and don't support it but that doesn't mean that they don't support our troops because these are our sons, our daughters, our sisters, our brothers and our Moms and Dads who are fighting and dying.

Some people write letters and send care packages to the soldiers but here in America others have shown their support for the troops is by wearing clothing that is inspired by military attire. From Old Navy to Levi Strauss, many clothing manufacturers have pieces that are similar to what soldiers would wear.

Most people say you can learn a lot about a man by looking at his shoes but between you and me, the true revealer of a man is his watch. Everyone always runs to spend money on fresh footwear to impress but its the watch that really tells what a man spending limits really are.

Timekeeping began with the shadow clocks of Egypt. Simply a long stem protruding out of the ground, it was used to measure the hours of the day based on the position of shadows over special marks. Unfortunately this device was no good because when the sun wasnt out or there was a cloudy day, no one knew what time it was.

Then the Egyptians developed water clocks which consisted of a bowl with small holes in its bottom, which was floated on water and allowed to fill at a near-constant rate; markings on the side of the bowl indicated elapsed time, as the surface of the water reached them.

It has been said that the eyes are the window to the soul. What happens when you want to close that window? Just put on a pair of shades.

The ultimate accessory, sunglasses, shades or as we call them in the hood, stunners can take your outfit to a whole 'nother level.

Creating mystery and partial anonymity, stunners are instant confidence boosters. You ever notice that people who have on shades hold their head just a little bit higher?

Shades also can hide red-eyes, black eyes and sleepy eyes. Amazingly though the Chinese had other uses for them.

According to 100 Inventions That Shaped The World by Bill Yenne and, Panati's Extraordinary Origins of Everyday Things by Charles Panati, Chinese judges used smoke-colored quartz lenses to conceal the expressions of their eyes in court in the 1300's.

In 1430, vision-correcting darkened eyeglasses were used to fix vision impairments. These were brought to China from Italy.
